Nose Twist Jewellery

Nose Twist Jewellery at SkinKandy

Nose twist jewellery at SkinKandy is corkscrew-style nose jewellery for the nostril piercing, designed to twist gently into place rather than push straight through. It's fitted at 18G or 20G, in Titanium, Surgical Steel and Gold, and suits anyone who wants a secure, snag-resistant nose stud that stays put through everyday movement. Nose twists are a popular alternative to an L-bend for people who find the twist shape easier to insert and remove without disturbing the piercing. Whether you're fresh out of your piercing appointment or restyling a healed nostril, we've got the fit sorted.

Who is nose twist jewellery suited to?

Nose twist jewellery suits anyone with a nostril piercing who wants a secure, corkscrew-shaped stud that stays in place without a clasp or backing. The twisted post follows the natural curve of the nostril, which makes it a comfortable option for people who are new to nose piercings as well as those restyling a healed one. It's not the only style available for nostril piercings, so if you'd prefer a straighter fit, our nostril jewellery range includes L-bend and flatback alternatives too. Our piercing specialists can help you work out which shape sits most comfortably in your nostril.

What gauge nose twist do I need?

Nose twist jewellery is fitted at 18G or 20G, which are the standard gauges for nostril piercings. The exact length and depth of the twist can vary slightly depending on the shape of your nostril, so it's best fitted by a piercing specialist rather than bought as a guess. A twist that's too tight can pull on the piercing, while one that's too loose may not sit securely. Our piercing specialists measure your nostril in studio to make sure your first or replacement nose twist fits properly.

What materials are nose twists available in?

Nose twist jewellery at SkinKandy comes in Titanium, Surgical Steel and Gold. Surgical Steel is used for fresh piercings in studio, though it contains trace nickel, so Titanium or Gold are better choices for sensitive skin. Titanium is our go-to recommendation while your nostril piercing heals, since it's lightweight and gentle on the placement. Gold nose twists are a popular upgrade once your piercing is fully healed.

Nose twist vs L-bend, which should I choose?

A nose twist has a corkscrew-shaped post that twists into the nostril, while an L-bend has a simple bent post that sits at an angle inside the nose. Nose twists tend to feel more secure since the twist shape resists pulling out accidentally, while L-bends are quicker to insert and remove, which some people prefer once they're confident changing their own jewellery. Both are fitted at 18G or 20G, so the choice mostly comes down to comfort and how confident you feel handling your own jewellery. Our piercing specialists can talk you through both styles before you decide.

How do I care for a fresh nostril piercing with nose twist jewellery?

Clean your nostril piercing as directed by your piercing specialists, and don't remove your jewellery during the healing phase, since this can affect how well the piercing settles. Avoid twisting the jewellery more than necessary while it's healing, even though the twist shape is designed to make insertion easier. Nostril piercings generally take a few months to heal, so it's worth being patient and sticking to your aftercare routine. For full guidance, our aftercare page covers cleaning and healing step by step.
