Labret piercings are fitted with 16G jewellery, typically in 8mm or 10mm post lengths. A longer post is used for fresh piercings to accommodate swelling, and you'll downsize to a shorter length once the initial swelling goes down. How long does a labret piercing take to heal?

Labret piercings are typically ready for a downsize at 6 to 12 weeks, with full healing taking a minimum of 4 months. If you have sensitive skin, Titanium or 14kt Gold are your safest options. Surgical Steel is suitable for healed labret piercings but does contain trace nickel, so it's not ideal for anyone with metal sensitivities.
