Bridge Jewellery at SkinKandy

Bridge jewellery at SkinKandy is piercing jewellery for the bridge piercing, a horizontal placement across the top of the nose between the eyes. It's fitted as a 14G straight barbell in lengths from 10mm to 14mm, and available in Titanium, Surgical Steel and Gold. This placement suits people looking for a bold, symmetrical facial piercing, though it's worth checking our piercing info page first, since bridge piercings need enough skin and space between the eyes to sit safely. Whether this is your first bridge piercing or a jewellery upgrade, we've got the sizing and materials covered.

What jewellery style is used for a bridge piercing?

A bridge piercing is worn with a straight barbell, fitted at 14G in a length of 10mm to 14mm depending on your anatomy. Unlike curved placements such as the eyebrow, the bridge sits flat across the top of the nose, so a straight bar is the correct shape rather than a curved barbell. Bridge jewellery typically has a simple ball or gem end, keeping the style clean and symmetrical across the face. Our piercing specialists measure the placement before piercing to make sure the length suits your bridge.

What gauge and length do I need for a bridge piercing?

Bridge piercings are fitted at 14G, with a straight barbell length of 10mm to 14mm depending on the width of your bridge. A longer bar is usually fitted at the time of piercing to make room for swelling, then downsized once the area has settled. If the bar is too short it can put pressure on the piercing as it heals, and if it's too long it can shift and catch on glasses or clothing. Our piercing specialists always measure your bridge in studio before fitting your first barbell.

What materials are bridge barbells available in?

Bridge jewellery at SkinKandy is available in Titanium, Surgical Steel and Gold. Surgical Steel is used for fresh piercings in studio, though it contains trace nickel, so Titanium is the better option if your skin tends to be sensitive. Titanium is lightweight and a reliable choice while your bridge piercing heals, since it puts less pressure on the placement. Gold is a popular option once you're fully healed and want to upgrade to a more premium everyday piece.

Bridge vs eyebrow piercing, what's the difference?

A bridge piercing sits horizontally across the top of the nose between the eyes, while an eyebrow piercing sits vertically through the brow itself. Bridge piercings use a straight 14G barbell at 10mm to 14mm, while eyebrow piercings use a curved barbell at 16G in 8mm or 10mm, since the eyebrow's shape calls for a bar with a gentle bend. The two placements suit different face shapes and piercing goals, so it's worth chatting with a piercing specialist about which one fits your anatomy comfortably. Not everyone has enough skin at the bridge for this placement, so a consultation in studio is the best way to confirm you're a good candidate.

How long does a bridge piercing take to heal and is it suitable for everyone?

Bridge piercings generally take several months to fully settle, similar to other surface-style facial piercings, so patience is key. Do not remove your jewellery during the healing phase, and keep the area clean as directed by your piercing specialists. Bridge piercings aren't suitable for everyone, since they need enough skin and space between the eyes to sit safely without excessive pressure. Our piercing specialists check your anatomy in studio before piercing to confirm the bridge is the right fit for you.
