Earrings at SkinKandy
SkinKandy's earring collection covers everything from classic lobe studs to cartilage flatbacks and statement hoops and huggies. Whether you're building a curated ear stack or picking your very first pair, you'll find styles in Titanium, Surgical Steel and 14kt Gold. Every piece is designed with comfort and wearability in mind, so your jewellery works as hard as you do.
What earring styles does SkinKandy offer?
We carry studs, flatbacks, hoops, huggies, segment rings and charms and chains for ears. Lobe earrings are available in 18G and 20G, while cartilage earrings come in 16G flatback styles with 6mm or 8mm post lengths. If you're into ear curation, you can mix and match across styles to create a look that's completely yours.
What's the difference between studs and flatbacks?
Standard studs with butterfly backs are designed for lobe piercings at 18G or 20G. Flatbacks have a smooth, flat disc on the back that sits flush against your skin, making them the go-to for cartilage placements like helix, tragus and conch. Flatbacks are more comfortable for side-sleepers too. If you've got a cartilage piercing, always go for a flatback over a standard stud.
Which earring material is best for sensitive ears?
Titanium and 14kt Gold are the best choices for sensitive ears. Both are nickel-free and biocompatible, so they're unlikely to cause irritation. Surgical Steel is a popular everyday option, but it does contain trace nickel, so it's worth switching to Titanium or Gold if you notice any sensitivity.
How do I build an ear stack?
Start with your existing piercings and layer different styles across each placement. Mix a small huggie in your lobe with a flatback in your helix and a charm dangling from your conch. Our ear curation guide walks you through styling tips and placement combinations. You can also visit a SkinKandy studio and have a piercing specialist help you plan your stack in person.
Can I wear earrings during healing?
You should keep your initial piercing jewellery in place until your piercing has fully healed. For lobes, that's around 6-12 weeks. For cartilage piercings like helix or tragus, healing can take 6-12 months. Follow the aftercare guide your piercing specialist gives you, and check in at your local studio if you have any concerns before swapping your jewellery.
