What size star or moon jewellery do I need?
Sizing depends on the piece and placement rather than the design itself. Lobe studs are fitted at 18G or 20G, cartilage flatbacks use 16G at 6mm or 8mm, and hoops vary by placement, from smaller nostril sizes up to 8mm or 10mm for helix and conch. Charms don't have a piercing gauge of their own, since they clip onto jewellery you already have in. Can I wear star and moon jewellery in a fresh piercing?
Yes, star and moon studs and flatbacks can be worn as starter jewellery in the placements they're designed for, in Surgical Steel, Titanium or 14K Gold. Surgical Steel is used by our piercing specialists for fresh piercings in studio, though Titanium and Gold suit sensitive skin better. Charms and hoop attachments should wait until your piercing is fully healed. Do not remove your jewellery during the healing phase, as this can cause the piercing to close.
How does a star stud compare to a star charm?
A star or moon stud is fitted directly into the piercing as your primary jewellery, following standard placement sizing. A charm is an add-on that clips onto an existing hoop or segment ring, adding a dangling star or moon detail without replacing your base jewellery.
